Description

This no-bake Easter Dirt Cake is a fun and festive dessert featuring layers of crushed Oreo cookies, creamy chocolate pudding filling, and colorful Easter-themed toppings. Perfect for spring celebrations, this easy-to-make treat combines rich flavors and playful textures, coming together in under two and a half hours without heating or baking.

Ingredients

Scale

Base and Filling

  • 1 (15.5 oz) package Oreo cookies, crushed
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1 (8 oz) package cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 3 cups milk
  • 2 boxes (3.4 oz each) instant chocolate pudding mix
  • 12 oz Cool Whip, thawed

Toppings

  • 1 cup Easter M&M’s
  • 20 PEEP marshmallows
  • Edible green grass (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cream Butter, Cream Cheese, and Sugar: In a large mixing bowl, combine the softened butter, softened cream cheese, and powdered sugar. Cream them together until the mixture is smooth and well combined. Set this mixture aside.
  2. Prepare Pudding: In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk and instant chocolate pudding mix until the mixture is smooth and begins to thicken.
  3. Combine Pudding and Cream Cheese Mixture: Pour the prepared pudding into the cream cheese mixture. Beat the combined ingredients together until fully incorporated, making sure to scrape down the sides of the bowl as needed.
  4. Fold in Cool Whip: Gently fold the thawed Cool Whip into the pudding and cream cheese mixture to maintain a light and fluffy texture.
  5. Assemble Cake: Prepare a 9×13 inch dish by pressing half of the crushed Oreo cookies firmly on the bottom. Spread the pudding filling evenly over this base, then top the filling with the remaining crushed Oreo cookies.
  6. Chill: Refrigerate the assembled cake for at least 2 hours or until it is fully set.
  7. Decorate and Serve: When ready to serve, sprinkle the top of the cake with Easter M&M’s candy and place one PEEP marshmallow on each slice. Optionally, add edible green grass for extra festive decoration.

Notes

  • Make sure the cream cheese and butter are softened at room temperature for easier mixing.
  • The pudding should be prepared according to package instructions for best texture.
  • Chilling time is essential to allow the layers to set properly before serving.
  • You can substitute Easter M&M’s with other colorful candies to fit your theme.
  • If you don’t have edible green grass, shredded coconut dyed green works as a great alternative.
