Instructions

  1. Press the tofu: Drain the tofu and wrap it in a clean towel or paper towels. Place a heavy object on top and press for about 10-15 minutes to remove excess moisture, which helps achieve a crispy texture.
  2. Prepare the tofu: Once pressed, cut the tofu into approximately 1-inch cubes, ensuring they are evenly sized for uniform cooking.
  3. Marinate the tofu: In a mixing bowl, combine the soy sauce, olive oil or sesame oil, cornstarch, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and rice vinegar if using. Gently toss the tofu cubes in this marinade, making sure each piece is well coated. Let the tofu sit for 10-15 minutes to absorb the flavors.
  4. Preheat the air fryer: Set your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) and allow it to preheat for a few minutes to ensure even cooking.
