Scale
Tea Base
- 1 1/2 cups water
- 1 cinnamon stick (or 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon)
- 2–3 thin slices of fresh ginger (optional)
Add-ins
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- Pinch of ground cloves (optional)
Instructions
- Boil the ingredients: In a small saucepan, combine the water, cinnamon stick, and ginger slices if using. Bring the mixture to a gentle boil over medium heat.
- Simmer for infusion: Reduce the heat and let the liquid simmer for 5 to 7 minutes to allow the flavors to meld and infuse fully.
- Strain the tea: Remove the saucepan from heat and strain the liquid if desired, especially if you used a cinnamon stick and fresh ginger slices.
- Add flavorings: Stir in the honey, lemon juice, and a pinch of ground cloves if desired, mixing well to combine all flavors.
- Serve warm: Allow the tea to cool slightly for safe sipping. Enjoy warm for the best soothing effects on a sore throat.
Notes
- If using ground cinnamon instead of a cinnamon stick, allow the tea to settle before drinking to avoid gritty texture.
- Add more honey for extra sweetness or to better coat the throat for relief.
- This tea can be sipped throughout the day as a natural remedy to soothe a sore throat.
