Scale
Filling
- 1 package (8 ounces) cream cheese, room temperature
- 2 cups (280g) rotisserie chicken, shredded and chopped
- 1 cup (113g) mozzarella cheese, shredded
- 1 cup (113g) sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
- 1/3 cup (84g) buffalo sauce
Puff Pastry
- 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
Finishing and Garnish
- 1 large egg, beaten
- Ranch dressing, for drizzling
- Extra buffalo sauce, for drizzling
- Parsley, for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven and Prepare the Baking Sheet: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking and ensure easy cleanup.
- Make the Buffalo Chicken Filling: In a medium bowl, combine the cream cheese, shredded rotisserie chicken, shredded mozzarella, shredded sharp cheddar, and buffalo sauce. Mix until all ingredients are well incorporated and creamy.
- Prepare the Puff Pastry: Lightly flour a clean surface and roll out the thawed puff pastry sheet into a 9×12-inch rectangle. This will create the base for your roll-ups.
- Fill and Roll the Pastry: Evenly spread the buffalo chicken mixture over the puff pastry, leaving about a half-inch border around the edges. Carefully roll the pastry up tightly into a log shape, pressing the edges to seal. Then slice the log into 1-inch thick pieces.
- Bake the Roll-Ups: Place the roll-up slices on the prepared baking sheet. Brush the tops with the beaten egg for a beautiful golden finish. Bake for 15–18 minutes until the pastry is puffed and golden brown. For an extra warm and saucy option, spoon some extra buffalo chicken mixture on top of each piece and bake for an additional 6–8 minutes.
- Serve and Enjoy: Once baked, drizzle the roll-ups with additional buffalo sauce and ranch dressing. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve warm for a flavorful, crowd-pleasing appetizer.
Notes
- Ensure the cream cheese is softened to room temperature for easier mixing.
- Use a sharp knife to slice the rolled pastry into even pieces for consistent baking.
- Adjust the amount of buffalo sauce to control the spiciness according to your preference.
- Serve immediately for the best texture, but leftovers can be reheated in the oven to maintain crispiness.
- These roll-ups freeze well before baking; just thaw before baking as directed.
